NSW Skilled Migration Program 2024-25 Planning Levels announced!!

The NSW Government announced the opening of our skilled visa nomination program for the 2024-25 program year. Most importantly there are now 3 pathways for subclass 491 nomination. Pathway 1 and Pathway 3, Applicants need to apply directly for nomination, pathway 2 will be invited by the NSW to apply for nomination.

10% TSMIT concessions for Pathway 1 of the subclass 491 nomination.

Below is a summary of the key updates to the program: 

NSW Priority Sectors:

The NSW Priority Sectors are Construction (infrastructure and housing), Renewables (net zero and clean energy), Care Economy (aged care and disability services, early childhood education and care sectors), Digital and Cyber (across all sectors), Education (teachers), Agriculture and Agri food and Advanced Manufacturing.  

Application Fee 

The application fee has been increased by CPI for the 2024-25 program year, which is now A$315, plus GST (If the applicant applying from within Australia.)  

Subclass190:

To be eligible for NSW nomination, you must have a valid skills assessment in an occupation that both falls within an ANZSCO unit group identified on the NSW Skills List and is also eligible for this visa.  

Basic Eligibility

To be considered for NSW nomination, you must meet the following basic criteria:

Visa eligibility: Ensure you meet all visa requirements outlined by Home Affairs for this visa.

Skills assessment: Have a valid skills assessment for an occupation that is both:

    - listed on the eligible skilled occupation list for this visa; and

    - falls within an ANZSCO unit group identified on the NSW Skills List.

Residency: Ensure you are either currently residing:

     - in NSW and have continuously resided in NSW for a minimum period of six months; or

    - offshore and have continuously resided offshore for a minimum period of six months.

Subclass 491 Visa:

The NSW Government introduced a new direct application pathway for recent graduates from select regional NSW institutions to apply for NSW nomination under the subclass 491 visa (Pathway 3). Eligibility check and for more information visit the website

There are three pathways to NSW nomination for subclass 491 visa: 

    -Pathway 1 – Apply if you’re currently employed with a regional NSW employer.

    -Pathway 2 – Be invited to apply by Investment NSW.

    -Pathway 3 – Apply if you recently graduated from a Regional NSW institution.

NSW nomination for this visa under 'Pathway 2' is exceptionally competitive. We strongly encourage anyone considering NSW nomination under 'Pathway 2' to consider all other migration pathways.

TSMIT Concession for Subclass 491 (Pathway 1) 

Applicants in selected occupations may qualify for a 10%concession on the Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT) under Pathway 1. The employer must apply for the concession and get approved before the applicant applies for the nomination. Not all occupations are eligible for the concession.
