New enrolment policy for Dependents of Temporary visa holders for regional NSW.

NSW Government has announced a new enrolment policy for all students those are temporary resident visa holders, they will now be able to enroll in their local school, based on their residential address. These changes will come into effect on 1 January,2025.  Enrolment fees will be waived for those families who are regional holders (i.e. those who reside outside of greater Sydney and Wollongong) of Temporary Skills Shortage visas (subclass 482).
Updated policies for non-local enrolment: NSW public schools reserve specific local enrolment areas and these schools ensure enough seats for their (Local) residents. Any guardian can enroll their children outside their designated area as non-local enrolment if seats are available. Moreover, this update prioritize for siblings of enrolled students as a non-local enrolmen.t For further information it’s required to check Department of Education’s fact sheet Changes to the enrolment policy.
